In order for a person to handle their addiction permanently, one must understand what the mechanics of addiction really are. There are three barriers one must overcome in order to become drug free once again: cravings, guilt, and depression.

These barriers that a person must overcome to live a sober and productive life can seem impossible.  Many individuals who suffer from drug or alcohol addiction give up hope that they can take control of their lives once again. When a person is addicted, their addiction does not just affect them. Their addiction affects their family, friends and their community. Without a proper treatment program, a person’s chances of handling their addiction permanently decrease significantly.

Unfortunately, individuals do not have success with many of the programs out there available to them. They are in a constant revolving door going to rehab, getting clean, slipping up, and going to rehab all over again.
